Beta Game Site Launch
After much hard work we are proud to launch the beta version of the Mafia Wars game site at mafiawars.io which includes an integrated wallet! The wallet is a Bitcoin and Counterparty wallet that automatically creates a new wallet for any new visitors, and is integrated with the Counterparty Decentralized Exchange (DEX). All game card pages have also been updated to allow users to buy, sell, send, and gift cards.
We are working on a number of improvements for the upcoming full game release. For now please check out some of the features of the Beta game release including:
Integrated Wallet
The wallet that we have developed for the game is a Bitcoin and Counterparty wallet which greatly simplifies the process of playing the game, including buying, selling, sending, and gifting game cards. In addition to being compatible with existing 12-word passphrases, the wallet also supports adding a password to the wallet for additional security. The integrated wallet also includes automatic signing of authentication messages, which makes editing player, crew, and card profiles much easier!
When a user visits the mafiawars.io website for the first time, a wallet is automatically created for them. The user is then notified that the wallet has been created for them.
The site wallet can always be accessed by clicking the Bitcoin logo in the upper right corner of the top toolbar. When clicked, the wallet displays a users Bitcoin, MAFIACASH, PEPECASH, and XCP balances in the "My Balances" section, as well as a list of wallet options in the "Wallet Menu" section. Users may view and change their wallet addresses, view the wallet passphrase, and enable a password to lock and unlock the wallet before usage.
The Mafia Wars site wallet is a non-custodial wallet, which means that the operators of mafiawars.io have no access to user wallet passphrases, passwords, addresses, or funds, at any point.
Buy Cards
Players are now able to buy game cards using MAFIACASH, PEPECASH, or XCP using the integrated wallet. To purchase a card a user simply needs to navigate to the card profile and click the 'Buy' button. The user is then presented with a dialog box displaying their balance, as well as a list of any sell orders and the relavant price information. The dialog box also has an 'Advanced' button for users who would like to customize some of the more advanced options like setting the order expiration block or setting a custom BTC miners fee.
Sell Cards
Card owners are are now able to sell their game cards for MAFIACASH, PEPECASH, or XCP using the integrated wallet. To sell a card a user simply needs to navigate to the card profile and click the 'Sell' button. The user is then presented with a dialog box displaying their card balance, as well as a list of any sell orders and the relavant price information. The dialog box also has an 'Advanced' button for users who would like to customize some of the more advanced options like setting the order expiration block or setting a custom BTC miners fee.
Send Cards
Players are now able to send their BTC, XCP, MAFIACASH, PEPECASH, to other player wallets using the integrated wallet. To send a card a user simply needs to navigate to the card profile and click the 'Send' button. The user is then presented with a dialog box displaying their card balance, as well as a place to enter the receipient address and amount to send. The dialog box also has an 'Advanced' button for users who would like to customize some of the more advanced options like including a memo, setting a custom BTC miners fee, or including some additional BTC in the send.

We had hoped to have all of the wallet features available in the beta release of the game, however, the gift cards have proven a bit more difficult than anticipated and will require additional development work. We hope to have the gift card functionality working in the near future.
